Australia’s Covid-19 vaccination booster program began this week, with nearly 250,000 Australians having already had their booster by Friday. Booster shots will be available for every Australian six months after they receive their second dose. With over 37 million doses administered, 80 percent of Australian adults are now fully vaccinated, while over 90 percent have now received a first dose.

Backing New Australian Technology
The Prime Minister announced the establishment of a new technology fund to back Australian companies to develop new technologies. The Low Emissions Technology Commercialisation Fund will combine $500 million of new capital for the Clean Energy Finance Corporation with $500 million from the private sector.

New technologies will play a vital part in Australia reaching Net-Zero by 2050. Together with other new initiatives, like the increased investment in Clean Hydrogen Industrial Hubs, the Government will invest more than $21 billion in low emissions technologies by 2030. 

Investing $250 million to improve roads and keep freight moving
The Morrison Government is investing a further $250 million to upgrade ageing bridges and improve our regional roads to make them safer for communities and heavy vehicle drivers. The federal government funding will support eligible projects put forward by state, territory or local governments under the Bridges Renewal Program and the Heavy Vehicle Safety and Productivity Program. As well as making our roads safer for our drivers, these vital projects create local jobs and will also improve freight routes and help boost productivity.
