Column: Community Care - COVID REFLECTION
Our organisation has met with many unforeseen challenges since the pandemic began in March 2020 and taken steps to ensure continuity of services wherever possible. The team has adjusted to government restrictions and conquered the challenges. We have been very fortunate to have our office remain open and continue to assist our clients during trying times.
Social inclusion is an important part of ageing; we were able to conduct a number of social activities, including art and craft, using the Zoom platform for a while but it’s great to see clients attending social groups face to face once again. Attendance is, of course, limited due to capped numbers, social distancing requirements and a COVID safe plan which we have in place to protect clients, staff and volunteers.
Christmas is a time of year to spend time relaxing with loved ones, your family and friends; to enjoy each other’s company and appreciate what we have. Some may not be in a position to meet and greet family and friends and celebrate the festive
