PUPPIES – before getting that adorable pup keep in mind that you will need to be set up to house and contain him/her and be able to provide the time and energy to exercise, play and train. They can be a cute ball of mischief.

Puppies are not born friendly to humans; this happens only if they meet friendly people while tiny puppies. The implications of this are still not universally applied or even widely appreciated.

There are still many pups raised for the pet market under impoverished conditions, predisposing them to a life tinged with fear and anxiety, as well as causing behaviour that will not endear them to their owners or anyone else they may come across. Too often these are those lonely looking puppies seen through the large glass windows at pet shops as people walk past; they tug at people’s heart strings and encourage impulse buying. Avoid buying puppies on line or at markets.
