Column: Police News - ADOPT-A-COP PROGRAM
Along with Senior Constable Brendan Payne, I’ve been given the opportunity to become involved with a number of schools on the Mountain as part of the QPS local Adopt-a-Cop program.
As part of this year’s Road Safety Week, we attended Tamborine Mountain State High School for their annual Road Safety Program where the talented drama students staged a fatal traffic crash and the local emergency services (QPS, QAS and QFRS) attended and dealt with it as if it were a real scenario. After the performances, we had the chance to sit down with the students and talk through any road safety questions they had. It was great to get to speak and connect with the young adults face to face.
In a change of pace, we later attended the Tamborine Mountain College Early Education Centre and got to meet some new friends who were very excited to see the Police car lights.
