Everyone hear that collective sign of relief across the Mountain when the kids went back to school?? Or was that just me!!
It’s great to see everyone back into the routine of school, which means morning drop-offs and afternoon pick-ups, kids walking and riding all means of transport to and from, and generally oblivious to the world around them. This is where you as parents and care providers come in with some education for the kids and regular reminders of the potential dangers around traffic.
Everyone take care, take your time (you can only go as fast as the car in front of you) and keep a keen eye out for the random kid who occasionally pops out from behind trees and parked vehicles.
Pushbikes, skateboards, scooters (including motorised versions of the aforementioned), segways and even horses are all forms of transport that I have seen people employ across the Mountain. Please consider safety as your primary. A helmet can be a lifesaver and in most cases is compulsory as a user of any of these transport
