Friday 11 September sees the launch of the 2020 Tamborine Mountain Scarecrow Festival by the Shadow Minister for Tourism, Gold Coast colleague, David Crisafulli. Organised by the Tamborine Mountain Chamber of Commerce – which is also your local tourism body – this event is a terrific local initiative to bring visitors and revenue to the local area. It’s not something that depends on government organisers – it is largely put together by a team of locals whose goal is to enhance both the community, grow business and keep employing people. It’s this type of initiative that sets the foundations for keeping communities strong when things get tough – well done to all involved.
