Column: Travelling Places - CONTRIBUTIONS TO THE LOCAL FIRE BRIGADE
What a start to the year Australia has had. I think we are all feeling the effects of the heat, the drought, the fires and the recent downpours!

We are all wondering how best to support the affected communities to get back on their feet. One of the major contributors is tourism. I urge you all to consider a local holiday. Whether you drive to the northern New South beaches or to the Gold Coast; whether you cruise up the Queensland coast to Cairns, circumnavigate Tasmania or sail along the Kimberley Coast. Or perhaps fly to Melbourne and visit the Yarra, or further afield to Adelaide and visit Kangaroo Island. All these journeys will put desperately needed funds back into small business to support local communities. And don’t forget our local communities here in Scenic Rim.
