One thing that has struck me is the number of enquiries for expedition cruises in Australian waters. These expedition vessels carry under 200 passengers and offer you an up close experience, appealing to travellers who seek an immersive experience, who enjoy the interaction with locals, who are fascinated by the sharing of stories reflecting the history, culture and environment of the region.
True North is one of Australia’s most wonderful small expedition vessels carrying a maximum 36 passengers. This truly is an adventure in style with comfortable cabins and fantastic catering; you will soon feel at home as you get to know both your fellow passengers over a convivial meal or on a share excursion, and the crew as they lend a helping hand to ensure your journey is exceptional.
Small enough to enter rivers, a fine example is when in PNG, True North can venture 100 miles upstream on the Sepik River to interact with remote villagers, to glide through untouched jungle listening to bird calls in the hope.
