September is Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD) awareness month. September 9 was the International FASD Awareness Day, a day to recognize the importance of not consuming alcohol in pregnancy.
There is a general understanding that alcohol consumption in pregnancy is not recommended, but it is also important
to understand why the recommendation is there.
