NESS, NELL AND CASSIDY
“From early youth, I pretended to play the piano in the car, inspired by the piano rock. Going to Tamborine Mountain was always the best day out”, says Venessa Moore, when editor Jaap Vogel interviewed her and her business partner Jenelle Bruggy, on the Saturday Ness & Nell's Nook opened.
“Last year, I returned with my husband Graham and our two kids from four years living and working in Abu Dhabi. It was a good life over there, but when work in the entertainment industry dried up because of Covid, we had to go back to Australia. I decided to start a coffee shop with my long term friend Nell.”

“I’ve gone through a very different path in life because my husband Darren died four years ago from motor neurone disease”, says Nell. “I’m looking after my two children, but the time is right to start Ness & Nell's Nook now. We focus on the locals, not really on tourists. Currently, we are serving St. Ali coffee and Origin Tea, as well as cakes, muffins and platters. We are open during the day, for six or seven days a week.”

Ness’s daughter Cassidy has been a familiar face on Tamborine Mountain’s Gallery Walk for two years and is also involved in the business: “We have established a special meeting room next door, for groups and individuals to rent. Reiki, tarot, painting, yoga and other activities and workshops can be done there. We hope that it will be a service that the community likes. “

“Starting in Eagle Heights is a very conscious decision because we like the town and the community here.

An official opening was scheduled for Tuesday 15th March. The universe has bought us here for good reasons. We invite locals with open arms.”
