NEW YEAR TOURISM ACCOLADE FOR TAMBORINE MOUNTAIN DISTILLERY

A ray of light after a month of problems. Tamborine Mountain Distillery wins the Tourism Gold Medal at the 2024 Queensland Starlight Business Excellence Awards. The prestigious ceremony, hosted at Brisbane City Hall on Sunday 4th February, formed a part of the Lunar New Year Festivities and Celebrations. Attendees included the Lord Mayor of Brisbane Adrian Schrinner and the leader of the Opposition David Crisafulli. The award was accepted by Nerissa Jiang, the Distillery’s International Sales Manager and presented by the Hon. Mark Furner, Minister for Agricultural Industry Development.

Gordon Chalmers, the Distillery General Manager stated that this latest accolade was fantastic news after their worst month on record following the devastating Christmas Day storms that pummelled Tamborine Mountain. The upshot of the award was almost immediately felt the following day, with this iconic Scenic Rim Distillery winning its biggest single international order for its famous Australian Wild Forest Plum Liqueur. Gordon stated that this one order to Asia was “equal to a whole year of sales of this best-selling product. Again what wonderful proof that “every cloud has a silver lining”.
