NORWEGIAN CRUISE LINES
NORWEGIAN CRUISE LINES
Firstly, I would like to thank local resident Elizabeth Dowler for last week’s column – Elizabeth has recently travelled in the arctic circle and wrote a lovely article. Oddly enough, as I write I am sitting in Dubai airport enroute to the Svalbard archipelago, north of Norway in the arctic circle on a similar trip. Elizabeth and I often laugh that she sets the pace and I follow her to destinations around the world!
Cruising is back, and we have many clients booking both near to home and further afield on wonderful itineraries. Today we are looking at Norwegian Cruise Lines, NCL. We have a number of loyal NCL travellers who have tried several similar cruise lines and return time and again to their favourite company. With worldwide sailings and ships visiting Australian waters seasonally, it is easy to see the appeal. Not so well known in Australia, you should give the NCL fleet a try!

Imagine cruising just the way you want it: with no schedule to follow but your own. That is what Norwegian’s Freestyle Cruising provides for all their ships and itineraries. Indulge your taste buds at one of their wide-ranging dining options, or perhaps you would prefer a dinner and a show combination? Relax at some of the most spacious and modern staterooms in the cruise industry before venturing out to experience the shore excursion of your choice.

Savour a three-course meal and a great bottle of wine. Or grab a burger hot off the grill. Dress up. Dress down. Sit down with friends or make new ones. Thanks to the flexibility of no fixed dining times or pre-assigned seating, you have the freedom to enjoy more dining options than days of your cruise.

There is lots to do on board. Bask in the bright lights of Broadway with performances like Kinky Boots, a six-time Tony Award® winner and exclusively at sea aboard Norwegian; fan-favourite Jersey Boys, Priscilla, Queen of the Desert or Footloose. Spend every day discovering award-winning entertainment that’s beyond anything at sea.

Great for singles, couples and families alike, these ships make an ideal holiday for everyone. Often, multigenerational groups travel together, grandparents, adult children and the grandchildren. Offering something for every age group and space enough for everyone to find their own idea of a holiday, yet coming together for meals and shore excursions. NCL has a range of accommodation to suit every need, from Studio cabins designed and priced for solo travellers to sumptuous penthouses in The Haven, and everything in between.

Exclusive to NCL is The Haven, hidden away at the top of the ship is an exclusive enclave with luxurious, well-appointed and spacious accommodation. Not only will you have access to all the ship has to offer, you’ll enjoy the personal service of a concierge and 24-hour butler throughout your entire stay. Guests of The Haven are treated to many wonderful pampering treats and experiences.
